Frequently Asked Questions

Trimlight pricing varies based on:

  • Linear footage of your home or business

  • Roofline complexity

  • Controller and zone options

On average, residential installations range from $2000 to $5000. While that’s more than seasonal light setups, Trimlight offers permanent value, lower maintenance, and year-round versatility, making it a smart long-term investment.

Trimlight LED bulbs are rated to last up to 50,000 hours—that’s over 20 years if you use them a few hours each evening. The system comes with a lifetime product warranty on all components and a labor warranty (typically 1–5 years depending on the installer). It’s a long-term investment in hassle-free lighting that pays off in saved time, effort, and seasonal replacement costs.

The standard light option uses a single RGB LED per node, ideal for subtle, elegant displays and lower energy usage. The 3L option features three RGB diodes per node, giving you brighter output, more vibrant colors, and more complex patterns. It’s perfect for homes with taller rooflines or customers wanting maximum brightness and visibility. While both are customizable, the 3L system offers more impact—especially from a distance or on commercial properties.

The average size home (with 150 linear feet of roofline) will require 150 of 12″ spaced Lights. At maximum capacity, the  lights pull .6 watt/bulb for standard lights, and 1 watt/bulb for our new 3L. Therefore, if you were to run the lighting system for an average of 6 hours per day, it would cost: $4.34 per month, or $52.80 per year for the 3L system and almost half for our standard system. These calculations are based on the maximum power draw of our lights (1 watt/light) while on bright white, at a $0.16 kilowatt hour rate.

Trimlight stands apart for its patented channel design, commercial-grade components, user-friendly cloud-based app (Trimlight Edge), and unmatched customization. Unlike DIY systems like Govee, Trimlight is professionally installed and integrated cleanly into your home. Compared to other permanent systems like Gemstone and Jellyfish, Trimlight often has better color control, more robust scheduling, and a more discreet look during daylight hours.

Not really. Trimlight uses custom color-matched aluminum channels that blend into your existing fascia or soffit. During the day, the small LED bulbs are tucked inside the track and hardly noticeable. Homeowners appreciate the clean, professional appearance without the “cluttered wire” look of seasonal lights left up year-round.
